Is Your Heart Ready?
Luke 2:7 says, "She brought her first-born Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."
This Scripture tells us that the King of Israel- the King of the universe- opened His eyes to behold His meager surroundings, a lowly manger. "There was no room for them in the inn."
The inn in this verse can be likened to the human heart. Many people do not make room in their hearts to receive the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord, the Messiah, The lord Jesus Christ.
Many find themselves, like the innkeeper, busy with the busyness of life's affairs, more interested in making money and "doing their own thing." There seems to be little or no time to honor the Lord of Glory.
Also, sadly, many people have their hearts so cluttered with unforgiveness, resentments and bitterness that there is little room for Christ Child who came to set them free from those very emotions.
In Revelation 3:10 Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hearts My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and be with him."
Jesus Himself says it is He who knocks at the door of the human heart with a deep yearning to come in and bring His gifts of salvation, peace, comfort, tranquility, joy and an abiding hope. And the wonderful part of this is all you have to do is open the door and allow Him, the King of Glory, to come in and live in and through you. Jesus tells us that if we will abide or live in Him. He will abide or live in us. What a glorious promise!!!
That night Jesus was born into the world, He was born King of the Jews, but the nobility of the day did not even know of His birth. But God sent His angels to announce the birth of the King of the world to humble shepherds sleeping under the stars on a cold, winter's night.
Did you know that Jeus yearns to be King of your heart today? Won't you accept His invitation and enthrone Him in there?
His kingdom is in the hearts of all those who will put they're in him.
In Luke 17:20-21 The Word of God says. "Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, 'he kingdom of God does not come with observation, nor will they say, 'See here! or 'See there!' for indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."
The question for today is: Does Jesus Christ, The holy Child of Israel, rule and reign in your heart today? Is He King of your heart and Lord of your life? Is there room to receive Him?
Here is another question: Have you totally surrendered your will to His will? You may believe in God and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and you even attend church, but have you allowed God to completely fill you with His fullness?
It might be that Christ Jesus is not ruling and reigning as the Lord of your thoughts, emotions, intentions and/or imaginations. Perhaps he is not the Lord of your actions. Maybe He is not the Lord over your family and social life
Today, won't you make room in your heart for the Kings of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Give Him first place in your life. Make His Word a top priority in your daily routine. Purpose in your heart to serve Him in all you do.
And, as you faithfully do these things, you will discover the secret that abundant life Jesus talked about in John 10:10. "The thief (Satan), does not come except to steal, and to kil and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they (you and me) may have life and that they have more abundantly."
You will find yourself living above your circumstances in a life overflowing with love, peace, joy and the fullness of the King of the Universe!!!!
Amen
